Gross Bookings

Total contract value signed in a period before deducting churn or contraction.

Activity, not growth

Gross bookings measures commercial productivity. It says nothing about whether the base grew, because it excludes what was lost. Reporting it without net figures alongside describes effort rather than outcome.

The pairing

Gross bookings for sales productivity; net new ARR for whether the business grew.
