Renewal

The event at which a customer decides whether to continue, and the process leading up to it.

The outcome is decided long before the date

A renewal contested in its final week was usually lost months earlier, during onboarding or a period of declining usage nobody acted on. The renewal process is a leading-indicator process, not a closing one.

Work backwards from the date

Define when the renewal motion starts relative to term end and hold it. Renewals worked in the final fortnight are negotiations, not renewals.
